On June 2nd (Thursday) in the late afternoon, the 17th National Walking Pilgrimage from Częstochowa will arrive in the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow to pray in front of the miracle-famous image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina. Hundreds of pilgrims with Fr. Mariusz Bernyś and Fr. Michał Dłutowski left the “House of the Virgin” of Jasna Góra on June 17th, to arrive after five days at the “House of Merciful Jesus and St. Faustina” in Łagiewniki. Along the way, the pilgrims visited numerous shrines, and offered the toil of walking and their prayers for the intention of families and our homeland. The pilgrimage is held under the slogan “Time of Mercy is fulfilled”. At the end of the pilgrimage, morning Mass will be celebrated in the basilica on June 23th. The organizer of the pilgrimage is the Promień Bożego Miłosierdzia [Ray of Divine Mercy] foundation.
The nearest “Łagiewniki 22”, which is a monthly meeting of young people at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, will be held on June 22nd. The meeting will start at 7.00 pm in the chapel with the miracle-famous image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina in its usual rhythm, ie., with the WORD. A conference on how to discern the will of God will be delivered by Fr. Paweł Sawiak, S.J., the pastor at the Holy Spirit Resurrection Center, retreatologist, guardian of the “Strong in the Spirit” community. Immediately after the conference, ADORATION and WORSHIP of Divine Mercy will take place. Then, there will be time for COMMUNITY over a cup of tea for everyone. On June 22th, at the John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C., sisters from the Washington community of the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy will be hosting another “Evening with Merciful Jesus”. The Evening will start at 7.00 pm with presentation of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by Adoration and veneration of Merciful Jesus. After community prayer, Sr. Confida will give a conference on trust. At the end, the young participants will meet over tea. “Evenings with Merciful Jesus” are organized for young people who want to follow in the footsteps of St. Faustina and St. John Paul II to discover a new quality of life in friendship with Merciful Jesus.
On June 17th, at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, the 5th General Assembly of the Delegates of the “Faustinum” Association will take place. The participants will be “Faustinum” members from 10 countries and invited guests. The meeting will begin with a solemn Eucharist presided over by the Metropolitan of Krakow, Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski.
On June 16th, the day before the General Assembly, members of the “Faustinum” association, among others from Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, as well as the United States, Puerto Rico, Lebanon and Togo will pray in the chapel of the miracle-famous Divine Mercy image and the tomb of St. Faustina, and then meet in the “Faustinum” room. After the meeting, around 5.30 pm, they will go to the Chapel of the Passion for communal adoration and worship of God.
On 15 June, Thursday, the Church is celebrating the feast of Feast of Corpus Christi (Corpus Domini). Holy Mass at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki will be celebrated according to the Sunday schedule. Before noon, the procession of Corpus Christi will set out from the Wawel Hill to the Market Square in Krakow, and in the afternoon, other processions will take place in individual parishes. In the parish church in Łagiewniki, the Eucharistic procession to four altars will begin with Mass at 5:00 pm. The faithful will proceed along the street Siostry Faustyny in the direction of the Shrine of the Divine Mercy. At the basilica, the procession will conclude with a thankful Te Deum and a solemn blessing of the Holy Sacrament. Divine Mercy Mass for the intercession of St. Faustina in the intention of prayers and thanks from the faithful will be celebrated at 7 pm at the convent chapel.
Under such a motto, in the convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Gdansk, a women’s retreat organized by the “Woman is Divine” formation group will take place from June 9-11. It will be led by the formation group’s pastor, Fr. Łukasz Grelewicz. The participants will be discovering the Divine beauty in themselves.
On 9-11th June in Košice, the Second Congress of the Apostles of Divine Mercy in Slovakia will be held, accompanied by the slogan “The Beauty and the Riches of Christian Mercy”. Archbishop Bernard Bober, Bishop Stanislav Stolarik and the Greek Catholic Bishop Milan Chautur will participate. The latter will deliver a talk on the relationship between mercy and justice. The program also includes conferences dealing with the concept and practice of mercy in interpersonal relationships in the Old and New Testament, outside of Christianity (Islam) and in the school of St. Faustina and St. John Paul II. The last subject will be presented by Sr. M. Elżbieta Siepak from the convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki. A special message for the venerators of Divine Mercy in Slovakia will be delivered by Sr. Petra Kowalczyk, Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. The Congress is organized by sisters serving in the community of the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy under the patronage of Archbishop Bernard Bobera, the ordinary of the Archdiocese of Košice.
On June 10th, at 8 pm in the basilica of the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, the 15th night vigil of the Padre Pio Group will commence under the slogan “Preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the School of Padre Pio”. The renowned guest of this meeting will be Prof. Domenico Crupi, Director General of the “House of Relief in Suffering” and Giulio Michele Siena, PhD, editor-in-chief of La Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza. During the night vigil, the prayer of the Jasna Góra Appeal is planned, on top of a conference (at 9.30 pm), Holy Mass (at midnight), testimonies, Chaplet of Divine Mercy Chaplet and Adoration. The meeting will conclude with a solemn blessing and kissing of the relics.
On 10 June (Saturday) in the Church of the Dominican fathers in Košice, ceremonies of admission for new members in the “Faustinum” Association of the Apostles of Divine Mercy and promises of devotion and service to Divine Mercy will take place. A solemn Mass at 3.30 pm will be presided over by Bishop Stanislav Stolarik and attended by Apostles of Divine Mercy gathered at the II Congress of the Divine Mercy in Slovakia. Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, M. Petra Kowalczyk, and sisters engaged in formation in Slovakia will hand the 10 new volunteers their ID cards and the rules of the “Faustinum” Association. Ten new members will take their pledges of devotion and service to God’s Mercy. In Slovakia, the “Faustinum” Association counts 1,720 volunteers and 173 members.
On June 9th, Sr. Terezjana from the convent of the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki will meet with the faithful at the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, mostly members of the „Chaplet clubs”, in Strumiany (near Wieliczka). After the 6 pm Mass, she will be sharing good word about the Mercy of God.
