On May 19th (Saturday), annual May celebrations will take place at the Rock Shrine of Divine Mercy in Slovakia. Bishop Tomáš Galis, pastor of the Diocese of Žilina, will be presiding at the Mass on Mount Butkov at 3.30 pm. Some pilgrims will first appear at the foot of Mount Butkov to enter the site of the celebration at the cross from beneath, along the Stations of the Cross. At 3.00 pm, sisters from the Congregation of our Lady of Mercy from Slovakia and from the convent at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki will lead prayer at the Hour of Mercy and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Before the Mass, the Bishop will consecrate a new, monumental statue of Our Lady of Mercy. It will be another object on Mount Butkov after the Cross, monuments of St. Faustina and St. John Paul II and the Chapel of Divine Mercy. All the participants of this ceremony will receive little book, Różaniec ze św. Faustyną w Skalnym Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia [Rosary with St. Faustina at the Rock Shrine of Divine Mercy], published by the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy’s “Misericordia” publishing company in Polish and Slovak.
