After many months of preparation, on February 4th, in the town of Olaine (near Riga), where the Capuchin fathers serve the faithful, a pilgrimage of the Divine Mercy Image and relics of Sister Faustina will begin in Latvia. Two original size images of the Merciful Jesus were brough there on this occasion from the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, each bearing an inscription: Jesus, es uzticos es Tev (Jesus, I trust in You!). The images were consecrated the last Divine Mercy Sunday. Pocket pictures with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy have been printed, and Jesus’ Message of Mercy (also available at: faustyna.pl) was translated into Latvian. The person responsible for the organization of the pilgrimage is Fr. Stanisław Kowalski, O.F.M. Cap, who also operates a special website in connection with the event, at uzticies-jezum.mozello.lv. The website contains all the key texts of the nature and forms of the veneration of the Divine Mercy and visual documentation of the pilgrimage. These resources have been prepared in collaboration with the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy from Krakow-Łagiewniki. The pilgrimage will be completed on April 15th in Kauguri, at the church of Divine Mercy, where the relics of St. Faustina will be deposited.
