On September 10th, there will be a thanksgiving ceremony at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki for the beatification of Fr. Władysław Bukowiński, the apostle of Kazakhstan. The solemn Eucharist in the Basilica at 6 pm will be presided over by Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Metropolitan of Krakow. It will be preceded by a prayerful vigil that will begin an hour earlier. Father Bukowiński was beatified on September 11th last year in Karaganda. The president of this ceremony, Angelo Cardinal Amato, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, called the brave missionary “the first witness of God’s Mercy” in Kazakhstan. His relics rest in Karaganda.
